At the European Humanitarian Forum #EHF2025, Dr. Wojtek Wilk CEO of the PCPM joined a high-level panel on Ukraine, alongside representatives of the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid , Ukrainian government, and ICRC.
He stressed that humanitarian aid in Ukraine must work through national systems — not in parallel — and support government-led social protection. This is how PCPM, with Polish government support, delivers its assistance.
Poland has hosted over 1.5M refugees and spent over €20B on aid for Ukraine — far exceeding EU support. The EU must strengthen its emergency response tools and funding for Member States.
Dr. Wilk also called for greater inclusion of Eastern European NGOs in the EU’s humanitarian system, including as ECHO partners.
