Cyprus India Flights

Cyprus is also planning a likely waiver of visas to the United States of America. Serious drives are being held to secure Schengen membership by the year 2025.

These initiatives are to help Cyprus recover lost markets and establish itself as a strong player in world tourism. The promotion shall sustain growth and lasting economic resilience.

As a major highlight of the conference, Cyprus will focus on getting a non-stop flight to India. Recognizing India as a high-potential market, the President announced that the Republic of Cyprus has strengthened the High Commission in India.

The President also said that there will be an announcement of flights to India from airlines in the near future. This will be a big step in establishing a dedicated air route between the two nations.

Targeting India as a potential market complements Cyprus’ efforts to diversify its tourism markets. Cyprus expects to recover from the collapse of tourists in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

President Christodoulides, in his address, also said that connectivity remains paramount for nurturing Cyprus to become a more reachable and appealing destination for Indian travelers.

US visa waiver on Horizon

Cyprus and the United States of America are on the verge of concluding negotiations for its citizens to receive a visa-free regime.

The President said that a team from the US Government is expected to pay a visit to Cyprus in the near future. There will be further announcements in the coming days.

A waiver will facilitate not only the travels of Cypriots but will also bring bilateral ties in tourism and business closer.

President Christodoulides expressed optimism about the opportunities that the American market offers, placing emphasis on the fact that U.S. visitors spend almost twice as much as their European counterparts.

These efforts will be widened with his proposed visit to three U.S. states in April 2025 aimed at attracting investment and promoting Cyprus as a tourism hotspot.

Schengen Zone Entry by 2025

Another transformative step is Cyprus’ ambitious push to join the Schengen zone by this year. Cyprus is the only EU member state currently outside Schengen. This move holds significant potential for the nation’s tourism and economic sectors.

President Nikos Christodoulides highlighted those political concerns related to the ceasefire line. These were long-standing barriers that have been effectively addressed. The focus has now shifted to fulfilling technical requirements. There is a dedicated team under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs working diligently to meet the necessary criteria.

Entry into the Schengen zone is anticipated to serve as a game-changer. This move can stream travel for millions of tourists, facilitating seamless mobility for businesses. President believes it can help in making Cyprus a more attractive destination for global investors.

This development will further integrate Cyprus into the European framework, enhancing its connectivity and competitiveness on the global stage.
