A 17-year-old girl died and a woman sustained serious injuries following two assaults at a property in Cefn Fforest, Wales. An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Gwent Police confirmed they are not seeking further individuals in connection with the incident.

Officers, including firearms units as a precaution, responded to the property on Wheatley Place at around 7:15am on Thursday 13 November. The Welsh Ambulance Service and Welsh Air Ambulance attended the scene. The girl from Cefn Fforest was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman from Cefn Fforest is receiving hospital treatment for serious injuries. The 18-year-old suspect from Newbridge remains in police custody.
