Jack Grealish has agreed a season-long loan move from Manchester City to Everton, according to Leeds Live. The £100m attacking midfielder is set to undergo a medical at the Merseyside club today ahead of finalising the switch.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano expects Grealish to complete his move to Everton "in the next 24 hours", as The Athletic reports the England international is due for his medical examination. The 29-year-old has fallen dramatically out of favour at the Etihad Stadium despite winning the Premier League three times with City, according to Leeds Live.

Grealish made only seven Premier League starts last season and struggled for regular game time under Pep Guardiola, as Leeds Live reports. The former Aston Villa captain managed just 16 starts across all competitions, highlighting his marginalised role at City.

City exile and squad surplus

Manchester City left Grealish out entirely of their Club World Cup squad that travelled to the United States this summer, according to Leeds Live. Guardiola has an abundance of attacking talent including Phil Foden, Savinho, Jeremy Doku, Kevin De Bruyne, Omar Marmoush and Bernardo Silva.

Manchester Evening News reports that Grealish was an unused substitute in City's FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace and was omitted entirely from the final Premier League game against Fulham. His exclusion from England's Euro 2024 squad by Gareth Southgate and subsequent omission by new manager Thomas Tuchel has added to his frustrations, as The Independent confirmed.

Grealish cost City a then-British record £100m when he joined from Aston Villa in 2021 and still has two years remaining on his current contract, according to Leeds Live. The versatile forward has played 157 times for City, scoring 17 goals and providing 23 assists.

Everton's major addition

The loan deal would make Grealish Everton's fifth summer addition, following the arrivals of Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, Adam Aznou and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, as Leeds Live reports. The Independent highlights Everton's transformation under Friedkin ownership with their new stadium development and increased investment in the squad.

Toffees manager David Moyes faces fitness concerns over defender Vitalii Mykolenko, who was forced off with a knock during their pre-season clash against Roma, according to Leeds Live. Everton visit Elland Road to face Leeds United on the opening day of the season, meaning Grealish could potentially make his debut against Daniel Farke's side.
