Warsaw has a rich history and many fascinating places to discover. We invite you to join us as we explore the stories behind Warsaw and Poland together.

Warsaw is a great place to explore the history of the 20th century and the events that shaped it. How did these events influence Poland and its capital? How was Warsaw’s identity formed amid the great historical changes?

Join me for a walk designed to help you better understand Warsaw. We will explore the city’s architecture and discover what its buildings reveal about its past. We will pay attention to details that can change our perspective, search for the scars left by war, and see the traces of communism and the “wild 1990s.” We will also reflect on the lives of Warsaw’s residents, past and present. How does the city tell its own story today, and how is it changing? What does Warsaw mean to you?

Monika Michałek – Deputy Head of the Education Department at the Museum of Warsaw and an experienced city guide. She is a member and trainer of Interpret Europe, an international association for heritage interpretation. She completed postgraduate studies in Art History: Interpretations at Collegium Civitas. Her professional work focuses on educating children and adults, as well as exploring engaging and alternative ways of telling history and working with stories.
