Darts world champion Luke Littler has passed his practical driving test on the first attempt with zero faults. The 18-year-old shared his success on Instagram, writing: "Get innnn first time and 0 minors". His victory on the road comes after a frustrating struggle with the theory exam.
Colin Price Driving School in Warrington celebrated the achievement on social media, stating: "Congratulations to Luke Littler on passing his driving test today at Warrington on his first attempt with ZERO driving faults,". Littler reshared the post.
Six-time theory test failure
Before his practical success, Littler failed his theory test six times. He finally passed on the seventh attempt in September, scoring 43 out of 50 points and 63 out of 75 on hazard perception. After passing, he posted on Instagram: "We will have a look, of course we will have a look!"
Dream car awaits
The young champion now plans to buy his dream car - a Mercedes A-Class worth between £30,000 and £50,000. He explained his preference: "I've always loved a Mercedes A-Class. Just a small car. Last year I was looking at driving and I loved Ford Focuses. But now, I've gone up in the world just a little! What model? No idea. Just an A-Class. I don't know the different models."
Littler made clear he would fund the purchase himself: "If I get a car, it won't be a birthday present from anyone. I think it would have to be a birthday present from me to me.". His earnings from winning the World Championship in January and subsequent endorsements make the luxury purchase possible.
The timing works well for Littler, who previously delayed driving lessons due to his hectic darts schedule. He had said: "I haven't had driving lessons yet because it's been so hectic, but I'm going to have to do it before I get into my twenties when it'll be too late and I can't be bothered,".
He now prepares to defend his world title at the PDC World Championship starting December 11 at Alexandra Palace.
