Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher, has been charged with rape and multiple other serious offences. The 59-year-old, who lives in East Finchley in north London, faces a total of 11 charges relating to alleged incidents between 2022 and 2024.
The charges include coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Paul Gallagher is a year older than Noel and seven years older than Liam.
Court appearance scheduled
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday August 27, 2025. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges following their investigation into the alleged offences.
Cate Baccas from the Crown Prosecution Service said: "We can confirm we have authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge Paul Gallagher with rape and other offences following a police investigation." She confirmed the 59-year-old from East Finchley has been charged with the range of offences including rape, sexual assault, assault, controlling or coercive behaviour, making threats to kill and intentional strangulation.
Legal proceedings warning
The Crown Prosecution Service has issued a strong warning about the active criminal proceedings. Baccas emphasised that Gallagher "has a right to a fair trial" and stressed the importance of avoiding any reporting or online commentary that could prejudice the case.
"It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings," she said. The charges against Paul Gallagher were first reported by the Daily Telegraph.
