Penny Lancaster has accused Gregg Wallace of making her feel "ashamed and belittled" during her appearance on Celebrity MasterChef. The model and television personality, who is married to singer Sir Rod Stewart, appeared on the show in 2021.
Lancaster told Sky News she felt unsupported by production company Banijay UK during the incident. She said: "I didn't feel like I was supported in that moment, I felt ashamed and belittled by the way Gregg Wallace had treated me but equally I felt disappointed that the production company hadn't come to my rescue."
The television personality believes speaking out will help others in similar situations. She added: "There is a long way to go, but just by people coming forward and being honest about their experiences, I think will help in the long term."
Stewart's criticism
Sir Rod Stewart had previously defended his wife on social media, publicly criticising Wallace on Instagram. The singer claimed Wallace had "humiliated" Lancaster during her time on the programme.
In November 2024, Stewart wrote: "Good riddance Wallace… You humiliated my wife when she was on the show, but you had that bit cut out didn't you? You're a tubby, bald-headed, ill-mannered bully. Karma got ya. Sir Rod Stewart."
Wallace's downfall
Wallace was dismissed from his role in July following an investigation into historical allegations of misconduct. The inquiry upheld multiple accusations against the 60-year-old former greengrocer, who had co-presented the show since 2005.
Following the investigation, Wallace said he was "deeply sorry for any distress caused" and that he "never set out to harm or humiliate". The probe also upheld one allegation of "unwelcome physical contact" against him.
Wallace has since filed a High Court legal claim against the BBC following his dismissal, according to court records. Both Banijay and Wallace have been contacted for comment.
