Pizza Hut will close 68 restaurants across the United Kingdom after the company operating its dine-in venues entered administration. The closures will also affect 11 delivery sites as part of a major restructuring that puts 1,210 workers at risk of redundancy.

DC London Pie, the firm running Pizza Hut's UK dine-in restaurants under a franchise agreement, appointed administrators from corporate finance firm FTI on Monday. American hospitality giant Yum! Brands, which owns the global Pizza Hut business, has now purchased the UK restaurant operation through a pre-pack administration deal, saving 64 sites from closure.

Major cities face significant losses

Manchester Fort, Liverpool, and multiple Leeds locations will close including Colton Mill, Kirkstall Road and White Rose centres. London loses several outlets including Beckton, Greenwich, Finchley Lido and Russell Square locations.

Cardiff in Wales, Edinburgh city centre, Fountain Park and Kinnaird Park locations in Scotland will all shut. Bristol, Portsmouth, Brighton Marina and Reading Gate represent major southern England closures.

Lancashire faces widespread closures with restaurants in Bolton, Ashton, Lancaster, Preston, Oldham, Rochdale, Urmston and Wigan all set to close. Yorkshire loses outlets in Bradford Vicar Lane, Huddersfield and Hull alongside the Leeds closures.

The North East sees closures in Durham City, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and Silverlink in Tyne & Wear. Cumbria's Carlisle outlet and Cornwall's only restaurant in Truro will also shut.
