A former senior detective who led high-profile murder investigations is joining Reform UK as the party's adviser on police and crime. Colin Sutton, who spearheaded the investigation into serial killer Levi Bellfield, will help develop Nigel Farage's pledge to halve crime within five years.
The Reform leader has committed £7 billion towards achieving this ambitious target, including plans to recruit 30,000 additional police officers. Farage told the Mail on Sunday that former police officer Sutton would be a "huge asset" to his party.

Sutton outlined several key policies he would champion as part of Reform's policing offer. He told the newspaper he would equip all frontline officers with tasers and reopen 300 closed police stations across the country.
The former detective also proposed ending investigations into online arguments, suggesting resources should be redirected towards more serious crimes. These proposals form part of Reform's broader strategy to transform policing in Britain.

The two men are scheduled to appear together at a press conference on Monday morning. This will mark Sutton's formal introduction as Reform's police and crime adviser and provide further details on the party's law enforcement policies.
