Three men have been charged with rape following an alleged attack on a 33-year-old woman at Brighton Beach. Sussex Police received the report after the incident occurred on the lower esplanade at approximately 5am on October 4.

The victim has been offered support by specialist officers following the alleged rape. An investigation was immediately launched after the report was made to police.

The defendants are Abdulla Ahmadi, 25, an Iranian national from Crewe, and Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, both Egyptian nationals from Horsham. Each man has been charged with two counts of rape and all three have been remanded in custody.

Court proceedings
