W sobotę 14 września 2024 r. Muzeum Broni Pancernej w Poznaniu (poznański oddział Muzeum Wojska Polskiego) odwiedził niezwykły gość. Mowa o Pani Helen Patton-Plusczyk. Jej dziadek, Generał George Smith-Patton Junior dał się poznać jako jeden z najzdolniejszych dowódców II wojny światowej. Jej ojciec, George Smith Patton IV, generał major Armii Stanów Zjednoczonych wyróżnił się podczas wojny w Korei dowodząc batalionem czołgów (został wówczas ranny) oraz w wojnie w Wietnamie dowodząc pułkiem kawalerii pancernej.
Spotkanie było okazją do wspomnień o przodkach, natomiast tłem rozmów była ekspozycja broni pancernej, w której zasobach znajdują się amerykańskie czołgi, w tym M47 Patton.

On Saturday, September 14, 2024 the Armored Weapons Museum of Poznan (Poznań branch of the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw) was visited by an extraordinary guest, Mrs. Helen Patton-Plusczyk, the granddaughter of General George Smith-Patton Junior, one of the most talented commanders of World War II, the daughter of George Smith Patton IV, major general of the United States Army – he distinguished himself during the Korean War, commanding a tank battalion (he was wounded then), and in the Vietnam War, commanding an armored cavalry regiment..
The meeting was an opportunity to reminisce about ancestors, while the background of the talks was our armored weapons exhibition, which includes American tanks, together with the M47 Patton.
