30,000 Compensation for Passengers

Transportation Safety Board investigators have initiated the removal and examination of Delta Flight 4819’s aircraft following the crash landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport, where Delta Air Lines extends US$30,000 compensation offers to each passenger aboard the flight.

The compensation package comes without conditions, preserving passengers’ legal rights for future actions. The incident occurred Monday afternoon when the aircraft experienced a catastrophic landing, resulting in the plane rolling over after its wing generated a fireball upon contact with the runway.

Emergency response footage captured passengers evacuating through emergency exits amid snow conditions while first responders extinguished the aircraft. Twenty of twenty-one hospitalized passengers have received medical clearance and been discharged from local medical facilities.

Legal representation emerges as Rochon Genova, a Toronto-based aviation law firm, confirms retaining two Canadian passengers as clients. Partner Vincent Genova reveals one client returned to hospital Wednesday for evaluation of a potential head injury related to seatbelt malfunction during the incident. The firm, known for representing Ukraine International Airlines Tehran crash victims’ families, collaborates with American counsel representing U.S. passengers.

Genova announces plans for an independent investigation to identify additional parties for potential litigation. Maintenance crews commenced aircraft removal operations late Wednesday, with Transportation Safety Board officials confirming the transfer of the aircraft to a hangar for comprehensive examination.
