A serious collision has closed the M25 clockwise at Junction 14 near Heathrow Airport since just before 5am this morning. All four lanes within the A3113 Airport Way junction remain shut, causing severe disruption during the morning rush hour.

Metropolitan Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, and South East Coast Ambulance Service remain at the scene. The number of people injured in the collision has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Traffic Impact

Drivers are facing delays of up to an hour when approaching Heathrow Airport. Traffic is backing up significantly, with congestion now extending to Junction 13 A30 at Staines and onto the A30 into Staines itself.

According to Traffic England, it is taking over 30 minutes just to exit the motorway. The Standard reports that the broader London transport network is also experiencing delays, with disruption affecting Central and Jubilee line services.

Diversion and Reopening

Drivers are being diverted using an "up and over" closure via the exit and entry slip roads. Motorists are strongly advised to find alternative routes and allow extra time for journeys this morning.

National Highways initially estimated the M25 would reopen around 10am, but this has been extended. The latest projections suggest the motorway may not fully reopen until 10.45am or potentially as late as midday, meaning the closure could last nearly four hours in total.
