Man charged with murder of woman found dead in Tottenham

A 40-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman found dead in north London last month. Simon Levy, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, faces multiple serious charges including murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, intentional strangulation and two counts of rape.

The charges relate to the death of Sheryl Wilkins, 39, and a second victim who cannot be named due to the nature of the offences, the Metropolitan Police said. Both victims' families are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Discovery and investigation

Wilkins was found unresponsive in High Road, Tottenham, at around 7.30am on 24th August. She was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency response efforts.

An investigation began following an inconclusive post-mortem examination result. The Metropolitan Police launched a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her death.
