Three people have been arrested after four others were injured in a shooting at a Birmingham nightclub. The incident occurred at Mango nightclub in Bristol Street at around 3am on Saturday.
One man remains in hospital in a critical condition, while three others - two men and a woman - are being treated for less serious injuries. West Midlands Police confirmed all four victims were wounded during the shooting at the busy venue.
Three suspects in their twenties and thirties were arrested from a car on the M6 in Warwickshire shortly after the incident. The arrests followed urgent police inquiries in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
Investigation continues
The three arrested individuals remain in custody on suspicion of violent disorder as the investigation continues. Police stressed they are working to identify everyone involved in the incident.
Detectives have cordoned off Bristol Street southbound, from the Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street. The road closure "will be for some time" as the investigation progresses.
Witness appeal launched
Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke said: "This happened in a busy nightclub, on one of the main roads out of Birmingham city centre, so it's vital that we hear from anybody who saw what happened or who may have captured it on dashcam as they went past." He emphasised that urgent inquiries had led to the rapid arrests but the investigation remained active.
Clarke appealed specifically for anyone inside the venue during the shooting to come forward. "If you were in the club at the time and saw what happened, or recorded any footage from inside the venue, we need to hear from you urgently," he said.
