Three people have been arrested following a shooting at a Birmingham nightclub that left four people injured. The incident occurred at Mango nightclub in Bristol Street at around 3am on Saturday.

One man remains in hospital in a critical condition, while three others - two men and a woman - are being treated for less serious injuries. Police arrested three suspects in their twenties and thirties from a car on the M6 in Warwickshire shortly after the shooting.

Police investigation underway

The three arrested individuals remain in custody on suspicion of violent disorder as the investigation continues. West Midlands Police have cordoned off Bristol Street southbound, from the Pagoda Island to Bromsgrove Street, and warned the closure "will be for some time".

Acting Chief Inspector Michael Clarke said: "This happened in a busy nightclub, on one of the main roads out of Birmingham city centre, so it's vital that we hear from anybody who saw what happened or who may have captured it on dashcam as they went past." He added that urgent inquiries led to the rapid arrests but stressed the investigation continues to identify everyone involved.

Witness appeal launched

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was inside the club during the incident or recorded footage from the venue. Clarke said: "If you were in the club at the time and saw what happened, or recorded any footage from inside the venue, we need to hear from you urgently."

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting log 561 of September 20, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
