A woman in her 30s is fighting for her life after being stabbed in the neck in Birmingham city centre on Thursday evening. West Midlands Police arrested a man in his 20s near the scene on Smallbrook Queensway, outside Boots in the Bullring shopping area. The attack happened shortly before 9pm.
Detective Inspector James Nix said: «We believe this was an unprovoked attack and are working to understand why it happened.» He confirmed police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
