Princess Beatrice has been appointed Deputy Patron of The Outward Bound Trust, taking on a major charitable role as her father faces intensified scrutiny. The 37-year-old has served as a trustee for the organization for six years.

King Charles named her to the position alongside her uncle, Prince Edward, who becomes the trust's Royal Patron. The appointments signal a new chapter for the charity, which encourages young people to develop confidence through outdoor adventure.

Martin Davidson, Chief Executive of the trust, said: «With The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we're embarking on a new chapter. One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.»

Andrew's departure

The appointments come six years after Beatrice's father stepped down as the trust's Royal Patron. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor resigned in 2019 following his controversial BBC Newsnight interview about his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

King Charles recently stripped Andrew of his remaining royal titles and honours through a formal Letters Patent. Andrew, formerly Duke of York, will no longer use his HRH status and has been removed from the Roll of the Peerage. He has been summoned to appear before US Congress for questioning over his links to Epstein.
