Tommy Fury has revealed his "lowest ever moment" that saw him hit "rock bottom" after Molly-Mae Hague and their daughter Bambi left him last year. The 26-year-old professional boxer admits he was consuming up to 20 shots a day during his worst period of alcohol dependency.

Hand surgery in January 2024 that prevented him from boxing for up to 18 months triggered his descent into heavy drinking. "I was told that I had to have an operation on my hand and I couldn't use it for 12 to 18 months," Tommy explains in a new BBC documentary.

"So, at the point when you can't even shower yourself properly because of my cast, one day you find that all you can do is sit down and have a few drinks, and it takes the pain away," he says. "You kind of forget where you are, you forget what's going on. And sometimes you want that feeling all the time, and that's where it obviously starts."

Alcohol dependency struggle

Tommy reveals he was drinking "four or five times a week" during his darkest period. "When I look at the person I was back then, I don't even recognise that guy," he admits.

"Back then, I didn't really care about anything. I let the world go by and wasn't bothered, and that's just not me," the reality TV star continues. "I've always kept myself in tip-top condition. I'm an athlete, I'm a fighter, I want to strive for the best, I want to be the best, that's my mindset. And then I just lost it down that stretch."

According to the Independent, Tommy maintained his fatherly duties by preparing Bambi's morning routine at 7:15 AM even while heavily intoxicated. Asked about Molly-Mae walking out on him with Bambi, Tommy says: "I probably would have walked away from me too."

Media speculation aftermath

Tommy describes the constant media speculation around their breakup as "horrible". "Just constantly every day lies and just pure s*** that you're reading in every single newspaper, magazine possible," he says.

"It's not a nice feeling, but it comes to a point where that's not even important. What's important is getting back to who I am," Tommy explains. The couple announced their split in August 2024 after meeting on Love Island in 2019 and welcoming Bambi in January 2023.

Only the Daily Mail reports that John Fury advised Molly-Mae to "walk away" from Tommy during his drinking period. The Manchester Evening News notes Tommy previously denied cheating rumours to Men's Health UK in January 2025.

Documentary premiere

"Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury" offers unprecedented access into the boxer's life during what he calls the "worst year of his life". Part one airs tonight on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, with part two scheduled for later this year.

The series follows Tommy's journey from rock bottom to attempted redemption as he prepares for his boxing comeback. It also captures the immediate aftermath of his split with Molly-Mae and their efforts to co-parent Bambi.
