A man has died and two others remain missing after a rigid-hulled inflatable boat crashed near Portsmouth Harbour on Thursday evening. The collision occurred near Tipner shortly before 8pm, prompting a major emergency response.
Police, paramedics, coastguard crews and a helicopter were deployed to the scene. The aircraft was seen hovering above Portsmouth Harbour during the extensive search operation.
Fatal casualty and missing persons
One man in his 60s from Emsworth was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained Hampshire Police officers.
